Isola di San Michele in Venice is dedicated to the city’s dead. I had such a peaceful time there from observing the different types of grave stones to being spooked out then enchanted by these little lizards that would pop up out of nowhere. Some people visit the cemetery to visit some of the more famous residents such as Ezra Pound and would drop off any gift they could even if it was a rock from the floor. I was intrigued by the colorful sticks on Helenio Herrera’s spot (a few pics down). Later I found out that these were actually glasses pieces from Murano used to create beads and such.
