Karlos Carcamo Paintings

Posted in Art, Graff by akacocolopez on October 1, 2008

Carcamo is one of the artists in the MoMA show, and is also an alumni of my school. I’m really drawn to these pieces and how they reference graffiti art which is very difficult to do in a fresh way. I think he’s been successful in creating these, as the image is not directly referenceing a certain style of writing or tag. Graffiti art is one of the largest contemporary art movements that’s been underrated for a long time, though lately it seems it’s stepchild, “street art”, is getting a lot more shine.
