July 17th – September 21st
This is my favorite show curated at the New Museum so far. Each of the floors it’s shown on was filled with something that made me say, “cool” . I didn’t get a chance to make sure, but I do believe there was a ” live person” installation … either that or some weird lady was laying on the floor rolling around and looking crazy, which either way is pretty effective. The exhibit brought together a conglomerate of works by artists that weaved together perfectly in creating a sense of trauma. I was especially captivated by the work of Maurizio Cattelan, Allora and Calzadilla, Pawet Althamer, and Roger Ballen.
They also have a little online exhibit as well: check it out here.
