July 3rd – August 9th 2008

Stephen Haller Gallery

Two artists that stood out at this show were Nobu Fukui and Ron Ehrlich.

Fukui, a Japanese artist working mainly in New York, created grand collages using 3-d beads, magazine images, sumi ink, acrylics, and oil paint all on top of a grid drawn using graphite. The paintings really stand out from the rest of the less crowded work.

Ron Ehrlich creates driptastic paintings using a conglomerate of materials from stucco, to marble dust. He is a master at color and I specifically enjoyed the texture of his paintings in this show.
